What started as a dream of mechanical cushioning in 1984 by Nike Air Force 1 designer Bruce Kilgore, and first steps with steel (yup steel springs) the Nike Shox line took its time to finally debut the “boing” in 1997, where twin plates with foam columns create the desired outcome. Today we see the return of one of the most beloved Nike Shox of all time, the gold Nike Shox R4. The low-top running sneaker was established in 2000 reaching a mass audience including the feet of NBA player Vince Carter and other world-class athletes. Eighteen years later we get them back, the memories (the older peeps around us) and style that is unmatched. The gold upper, black leather, and original branding make this a time travel worthwhile moment.
